| TPMM “Bands of Texas” CDs PRESENT 32 BANDS The Texas Polka Music Museum (TPMM) proudly announces their CD's titled “Bands of Texas, Vol. 1 and Vol 2.” These two CDs are the first two in a planned series of CD's of Texas polka music from the past and present that will become a collectible set of Texas Music history that also helps support the TPMM. Bands of Texas Volumes 1 and 2 each contain 16 bands presenting 16 songs, and over 50 minutes of Texas Polka Music. Each CD not only has the music but a photo and a brief history of each band on the recording. Volume 1 is sponsored by SPJST, and dedicated to Brenda Kocian, Co-founder and First President of TPMM. Volume 2 is sponsored by SPJST and Hermann Sons, and is dedicated to the memory of Julius Tupa, Texas Polka Promoter & Founder of The Texas Polka News. The music was donated by the bands and individuals to help preserve Texas Polka Music and its history. It comes from present day studio recordings, old 78’s, 45's, 33 1/3 LP's, as well as live recordings. The CD’s are available at dances and festivals from participating bands, stores that normally sell Texas polka music, TPMM members as well as mail order. See the ad this page for more information on the CD and ordering your copies. Plans for the Volume 3 are already being made, and more music donations are needed. Currently active bands, or family members of bands from the past with vintage recordings, willing to donate them to the project, should contact TPMM. Format of the music does not matter; it can be CD, 78’s, 45’s, 33 1/3 LP’s, 8-track, cassette, reel to reel. Click here for a music donation form.
